- Samuel J. Cicogna, CPA – VP of Professional Services, ONESOURCE Tax Provision and ONESOURCE WorkFlow Manager
Sam has held several positions in the professional services area at Thomson Reuters since joining the company in 2006. In these positions, he has lead implementations of various multinationals and Fortune 500 corporations. In his current role, Sam leads an integrated Services group responsible for all professional services for the income tax, provision and workflow implementations. He identifies potential for efficiencies through process improvements and recommends additional software functionality, and customizations. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Sam worked for Cox Enterprises, Inc. in Atlanta where his primary focus was tax technology and process optimization. In this role, he led the implementation of a new provision system to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. He began his tax career more than 15 years ago at Deloitte LLP. From there, Sam moved to Omnicare, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio. Where he worked as manager of state and local taxation prior to his role at Cox. Through the years, Sam has become proficient in a wide range of tax technology software solutions, including ONESOURCE Tax Provision, ONESOURCE Income Tax, Corptax, Hyperion-Essbase, Essbase Excel Add-In Tool, and Hyperion Analyzer. Sam earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting from the University of Dayton. He is certified in the state of Georgia.
- Jeff O'Hagan – Director, Northeast Region, ONESOURCE Tax Provision
Jeff joined ONESOURCE Tax Provision in September 2004 and is now the director of ONESOURCE Tax Provision based in Hoboken, N.J. Jeff is responsible for more than 100 ONESOURCE Tax Provision clients and leads a team of 12 implementation managers and specialists. Jeff also ran and helped organize the ONESOURCE Tax Provision insurance user group. Jeff joined Thomson Reuters from the Tax Management Solutions (TMS) group at KPMG, where he helped implement a web-based data collection tool and worked on tax outsourcing engagements at a number of FORTUNE 500 companies. Jeff joined Ernst & Young after graduating Pace University where he was a part of the Time-Warner outsourcing engagement for three years, preparing federal and state tax returns.
- Ronald A. Shackelford – Director, Southwest Region, ONESOURCE Tax Provision
Another pioneer of the tax and technology revolution is Ron, who has more than 20 years of tax and technology experience. Holding the title of director at Thomson Reuters since 2005, Ron is responsible for deploying and configuring tax provision processes and software for FORTUNE 100 and FORTUNE 500 companies. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Ron was the managing partner of Alliant Enterprise Tax Automation. He was responsible for deploying and developing tax provision and tax accrual solutions for clients including, Duke Energy Corporation, where he was the director of tax systems for seven years. There, Ron designed and deployed tax provision compliance software. He also completed a two-year assignment as project leader of the Expatriate Tax Analysis system in London, England and Aberdeen, Scotland at Marathon Oil Company. Ron started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers after graduating with a bachelor's degree in computer science from Texas Southern University
- Stephen P. Simi – Director, West Region Operations, ONESOURCE Tax Provision
An alumnus of two of the Big Four accounting firms, Stephen brings more than 10 years of global tax consulting experience to his current role as director at Thomson Reuters. In this role, Stephen conducts provision and uncertain tax positions implementations for multinationals in the western region, including Western Digital, eBay, and General Motors. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Stephen developed expertise in transfer pricing, federal and state return compliance, foreign tax credits, and research and development, while managing multiple global tax consulting projects at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte LLP. Stephen received a bachelor's degree in economics from San Francisco State, as well as several master's level degrees, including an M.A. in taxation from San Francisco State University, which he received while working full time at Deloitte LLP. In addition, he holds an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley, as well as from Columbia Business School.
